biography.
San Antonio, Texas native; Caroline Rippy Portillo spent her childhood surrounded by music. Caroline is the granddaughter to the master craftsman, Don Martin Macias, known for his handcrafted bajo sextos. Proud of the craft of her grandfather, she made an effort early on to make music an active part of her life by first experimenting with school band & later picking up the bass guitar.

Caroline played locally for many years in a variety of bands. Some of the more commonly recognized to her peers would be "Left Hand Lucy," "Second To None," and "The Dispicables."

In 2007, Caroline began touring with "Tito & Tarantula". This hard hitting rock band is mostly recognized for their songs featured in movies such as "Desperado", "From Dusk Till Dawn", "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" and most recently "Machete." Along with the bands' cult movie following, the band's leader, Tito Larriva, is well known for his debut LA Mexican punk band "The Plugz" later becoming "The Cruzados" until finally evolving to Tarantula. Together, Caroline has spent the past 4 years touring actively thru-out Europe & the US.

In 2009, Caroline joined her husband in creating a haunting acoustic duo called "The Division Men." Recently the couple moved to Austin, Texas.
